THEME: ENSLAVED
AYOBAMI AYANFEMI
TITLE: Enslaved
The chain buckled on us
By the slave master is aching us,
When will we be free from their bosom?
They toss us right,left
Leaving us with indecisive thought.
They seized our moon and
Give unto us seasonal doom.
They took away our sun
And give unto us disobedient son.
Our treasures are in the grave
Our men are no more brave.
We laugh in pressure
Nothing comes with pleasure.
Our bone now rebuke its flesh
It causes discomfort for the sullen legs,
When will we be free from bondage
Bondage that leaves in us scars rage.
Let us go home
Let life again breathe in us.
For we are dead
And can no more be heard.
We have been caged in their palms,
Let us all mourn high
And break the chain.

Title: Words of a Slave
My life is in shambles.
Like a dying Leper I grumble.
I have been in chains.
In a land where I have no gain.
I was so free in the little world I lived.
Now I am a Peasant where I am
The journey down here was a really long trip on planet waters.
Little did I know that I was coming to face starvation of water.
If anyone here can recall his childhood days.
Game Playing in the village Square days.
The days of moonlight stories.
The days I listened to Granny's stories.
Then they will know how the life table has turned.
On that very day it dawned.
On the way to the stream.
We couldn't get help despite our scream.
Ever since then my life has been in shambles.
And Everyday I grumble.
But I am hopeful,
Maybe one day I may be free.
