IKOKO AKUFO (lamentation of a broken pot).

Pains are eating deep into our hearts
For this gold of ours hath been destroyed in its whole,
And the running tap doth look like the foul
fountain.
The glories hath been sold
To cheap men whose home remains the street,
and this precious glowing light of ours is being barred.
Let the land weep,
for she's become the barren;
as her uprising is hidden behind the hill.

Kehinde.
