OPEN LETTER TO ALL PROMOTERS OF AFRICANISM.
Do you know that putting on your traditional attires always doesn't ascertain you to be a promoter of your culture and Africanism as a whole? Now this births the question; WHAT DEPICTS A PROMOTER OF AFRICANISM?
But firstly, let's throw some lights into the concept of Africanism itself. Africanism according to the English learners dictionary is defined as A characteristically African cultural feature, such as a belief, custom or linguistic feature.
Meaning, Africanism deals mainly with your belief as an African man/woman, your believe and trust in your custom and cultures. Africanism deals with being a Patriot!
With all your strength, might and power, love your country. Love your country with all her cultures. Not only with your mouth or with your dressing, but with you character and attitude.
No promoter of Africanism in His or her right senses would put on "Agbada" or "iro and buba" as an outfit to an official meeting with the mindset of promoting Africans. No! It is hypocrisy! Cause you can't reply their chats and talks with your fathers language when they're speaking with you in the universal language, English! You should be able to differentiate an African setting from an English setting.
Let's not be an extremist. Let promote with our right senses and right values.
Africans we are. African you are. African I am!
