THEME: HIDDEN TREASURES

OLANIYI OLOLADE

Title: HIDDEN TREASURES

Our sky is empty of stars,
And our land is barren of precious stones,
Both pebbles and dusts litter our land,
Not knowing that there are some treasures
Hidden somewhere in this land.

There are golds and silvers,
Emerald and precious rubies
Shining under the soil,hidden
Under the rocks,
Not obvious for men to behold.
Because of thieves that could steal them away.

Those things are hidden,
Because of the Sons of darkness amidst us,
Those who walk at night to steal our joys.

Those treasures are hidden,
Because of the bastards among us,
Those who grow wings at night
And wing away our treasures to far away lands.

KOLAWOLE ENIFENI SAMAD

TITLE; Hidden Treasure: A Lost Gem

Born in a cave,
Reared in a cage,
Grew in the mines, sigh...
The tunnel's sound; a mastered echo.

Once upon a century,
I lost the belief to fight,
The will to show I'm no blank slate,
I had followed the 'will o' the wisp'
Now I lost my way,
To fall in a deep pit
Where I could never be found.

What had my failure caused?
My failure to see for myself,
The capability to lose my will to dejection,
My efficiency at being inferior.

Oh! Land of my fathers
How do I save you from this pit?
For I'm the hidden treasure,
Who would seek to finding?
