HIGHLIGHTS OF WHYKE ANTHOLOGY'S AWARD NIGHT.


The event which was held within the late hours of the 4th day of the 1st month in the year 2018 kicked off with an appreciation message from the admins of Whyke Anthology. This was immediately followed by the arrival of interested Facebook users.

At exactly 8:45pm, Poet Justice Brown opened the podium officially with his grand poem titled Iku. The poem which caused an uproar in the comment section.

Other poets exhibited their poems, poets like; Poet Adeyemi Jamiu, and Poet Adeshina Abayomi.

The Presentation of awards soon began in earnest with the following poets being awarded -

• OYEKUNLE IFEOLUWA - Most Loved Poet 2017. Most Consistent Poet 2017. Best Poet 2017.

• ONI TOMIWA - 1st Runner-up Poet 2017.

• MOHAMMED SHAMSU-DEEN - 2nd Runner-up Poet 2017.

• KOLAWOLE ENIFENI SAMAD - Next Rated Poet.

• HUSSANI ABDULRAHIM - Most Creative Poet 2017.

• BEST ESSAYIST - AJANAKU HASSAN

• POETRY SUPPORTER (male) - JIDE BADMUS

• POETRY SUPPORTER (female) - WENDY BRYCE.

All poets and essayist who participated in 2017 contest were all encouraged and urged to ink more to better lives. Stating that they can do better in the next organized contest come 2018.

Mr Ogunniyi Tomiwa, the P.R.O of Whyke Anthology, also cleared the doubt and Inquisition of poets about the uproar of voting during the contest.

The event was brought to a memorable close with a votes of thanks rendered by Sanusi Emmanuel.

All plaques due to each winning poet has being delivered to them but, the Cash Grand Prize of  Ten Thousand Naira to the winning poet - Oyekunle Ifeoluwa.

This cash prize would be delivered to him, Oyekunle on or before the next 5 working days (12-01-2018). Within this period, he's urged to forward his account details to Whyke Anthology's official e-mail.

The Maiden Anthology based on the just concluded poetry contest would be released on the 31st Of January 2018. We urge everyone to endeavour getting a copy of the book, as the beauty of Africa is portrayed in it. More information about the anthology would be passed across to be general public in due time.

We wish all sincere followers, lovers of Whyke Anthology and Africans both home and faraway a prosperous 2018. Simultaneously anticipating this years contests, which promises to be even bigger and better.
