DON'T ASK ME HOW I BECAME A MAN.
Don't ask me how I became a man.
Do you know how it feels waking up
And your ears becomes home
Housing the sounds of gunshots,
With your eyes fed with your brethren's blood.
Don't ask me how I became a man,
Rather ask my Fatherland's watchmen - our leaders,
Why they named peace a bastard;
Pursuing him outta our homes
While welcoming corruption with an outstretched arm
Accompanied with a grand feast.
Don't ask me how I became a man
Rather ask how I survived this feat.
For with only this survival does one become a man
In the country I come from.
I am Emmanuel
