ADEPOJU BABAJIDE vs OLAWUYI BLESSING

NOTE;

Adepoju Babajide's poem lacks creative and poetic ingenuity, thus it writes poetry as a prosaic story.
Mistakes such as "a" odious creature..." instead of "an" odious creature.
Olawuyi Blessing's poem is strong on poetic devices such as repetition: " *Poverty! Poverty! Poverty!" which runs in each of the first two verses. Moreover relative ideologies are expressed in most of the lines which helps the plot to stay on one terrain rather than wander through the verses.
Good one.
-A Judge

Adepoju Babajide started the poem with a thirsty drink... He/she had so much to render in few lines. His mood were stable and his use of direct metaphors are superb.

OLANIYI OLOLADE vs HEVARDINAR INSPIRED.

NOTE;

These ones are mediocre poems. But they pair well at their level.
Mistakes in Olaniyi's Poem:
...sky to your *"linking" roof <he meant leaking roof>
... "an hot" music on a tongue of a... <a hot music>
...a drop of water for his "thitsty" <thirsty>
...has found home "on his" chest <in his>
Hevardinar left the theme at the very last line, where she was supposed to consolidate his message. "I'm African, I'm black, I'm beautiful". This alone makes futile of all the efforts afore-hand.
Mistakes:
... "as passersby drop penny"
<as passersby drop pennies>

ADELEYE OLUWADARASIMI vs ONI TOMIWA.

NOTES;

Adeleye Is also guilty of the crime of telling poetry as if its a simple prosaic story; though in this case it told in a better and more consistent form than the former (Adepoju). The simplicity of the lines allow for no noticeable grammatical blunders.

Oni's poem, though meshed in a taint of several grammatical mistakes (like: A woman "and feeds" her three children..., when "everythere" becomes dark..., A man roaming "around"... <about is a modern usage>, In search of endless "nothingless" <nothingness> "fiery ?" Of  penury. Yet, Oni writes a strong poem and exploits the theme fully by revealing diverse settings; "Feasting on remnants of bones" is a nice poetic usage and presents an irony as a feast is supposedly a sumptuous meal.
So too is the line; "They wore their own skins".
