THEME: SOJOURN

OLAWUYI BLESSING

TITLE: "SOJOURN"

Heavily travelled through tracks meant for two
Just as Noor flipped into Firdaus creating a pathname
That was never a joyriding mutual tool
For their origins were literally not same
Time-travelling on their pace of efforts to be dearests
Was consciousness striked upon as a plan of a ticked date
To realize they only just met haply in rarest
And now was them to live in time with hate.

Soulful journey don't start by a dummy run
Cos love affair dont understand seemings of trial run
As it is never a thing of here today and gone tomorrow
For only affectionateness and trustfulness is allow
Do not endear by being a sojouner
To atleast not make a regretful journal
Of never passing by bitterness
But rather fitterness.

ONI TOMIWA

TITLE; HOMECOMING SONS
Lined up like fishes
On a monger's table.
Here we are,
Children of forgotten traces.
Stiffling our breath
Beneath wounded palms
As worry becomes the air
Choking- like hemp
from uncircumcised mouths.

Shattered, like snail shells
Smashed on a rock
With countless titbits.
Shall we lie here
Where our skins are caressed by needles
And our tongues sweetened with gall
And watch them grind us
Into failed dust?

brothers!
Tonight, bats shall cease to hang;
Heads down in dejection.
We shall fly, across the hazy sky
And wipe off mother's tears.

They have made us a broken picture
Hanged in a hopeless frame.

But we shall return home
From this barren abode
With whispers and yawning
Into our father's yard
For even birds
When they are caged
Do not reject freedom
From lonely chirps
And unknown bars.
Into the cozy nest

Of their mothers.
