THEME: STOLEN PRIDE

ADELEYE OLUWADARASIMI

TITLE: Title: Heart of a Kid Mother.

The days of childhood gone by.
So quickly than expected.
The primitive times gone by.
So far like gathering cloud.

Forced into child labor.
In the name of conjugation.
Bilateral but not mutual.
Like binded amoebic  figurines.

Life seem shattered.
Everything broken.
The joys traded for notes.
Notes that rather draws them into penury.

Don't be too baffled.
This is just the heart of a kid mother.
A kid whose pride has been forcefully taken.
By friendly villains.

Oluwadarasimi M. Adeleye

BRENDA MARTHA

TITLE; STOLEN PRIDE(for girls who married early)

She had a dream, that one day she'd be great.
Her teacher told her of great women in history.
She'd set herself to join the league.
Never had she thought of any hindrance.
Slowly the nightmare began,
Numerous cattle were brought home.
And mother kept busy entertaining visitors,
Skipping school to lend a hand in the job,
And her constant enquiries quieted down.
It wasn't until she overheard the conversation,
On her young shoulders a marriage was set.
The crumbling of her world came then,
Tears staining her cheeks and soaked the ground.
She'd the impulse to run away into the wilderness,
To escape the nightmare she'd just heard.
The little dream of becoming a great woman died,
They'd taken away her pride as a woman .
They'd taken away a piece of her that night,
For onwards she was someone's wife.
