THEME: FALLEN HEROES
(In memory of Africa past warriors (leaders))

IBRAHEEM YUSUF

TITLE; O Death!! :

O death!
The source of darkness
why do you darken Africa
by waning the souls
that light it?
O death!
The king of larceny
why do you steal,
the precious souls of Africa
in the time of need?
O death!
The killjoy
why do you kill
the happiness of Africans
by killing their source of joy?
O death!
The source of wickedness
Why do you murder
African heroes
that dedicate their lives
for Africanism?
O death!
Hearken
you just steal the body
but the souls
will forever remain alive
in the hearts of Africans!
O death!!

ADEPOJU BABAJIDE

TITLE; *FALLING HEROES*

For all the times you treaded the battle field
And your horses spat fire
As you run with panting breath
And your sword smiled in blood
You are not dead

For all the times you answered the dangerous call
Peace keeping missions
As it is deceitfully called
In your uniforms you stood brave
And you propel the sparrows
Past men's hopes
You are not dead

When like flash of light
You draw out your sword
In happiness, it is ready to destroy
Without moon to light
Enemies bowed at your feet
And their heads
Served as your drinking horns
You are not dead

Just like the earth
You belonged to everyone
You stretched out your uncalloused hands
Like the haze of the harmattan
You lifted your feet
And your blood cooked the sands.
