THEME: SOJOURN
OLANIYI OLOLADE
TITLE: IN THIS STRANGE WORLD
Those who walked on these path yesterday,
Have been driven away by the wind of time.
Those who rode on these golden horse,
Have fallen into the pit of forgotten.
Father do say the world is a home of nobody,
We're strangers tracing our steps on the page of the world.
Roaming on the street to find a temporal home,
In a mansion that doesn't belongs to anyone of us.
Do you think you own the world,
Or you think your belongings belong to you?
You drive every stars into your sky,
Thinking you would spend a million years in this world.
We're memories writing on the walls of the world,
For when we're gone, and we're no more,
We will become history scripted on the palms of men.
Both you and I are strangers-- sojourners in this strange world.
WAKCHIN NENGAK
TITLE; SOJOURNER
a boy will leave his sire at home to find his life's trove
-weary of his hellish abode called home
& mom will soak her wrapper crying over a gone child
a child, that has gone to find his base
he can't stay to feed his maw with cooked wishes
'cause their is a rage behind his navel
& it doesn't matter if he looks before he LEAP-bya
to spend his notes on fare to find menial jobs abroad
it doesn't matter, he never minds how he may end up being like his mates
who got auctioned for notes, or teen skirts
whose body gets used by strange men
life at home is to daily wake & see a cause for hissing
-like a mouth trying to tap moist. from a sugary cane
for the events, morning breaks it's shell & splashes
in this home
are enough to force an earthworm to rush out of its dampen home
into the blurry path of hustle
